I was recently given the opportunity to review a brand new book by Susan Godfrey, Real Food Real Frugal, and I must say that I am in love! Truly her book is a great first resource when you are deciding to make the switch to healthy, natural foods and to do so on a budget!
Just look at that cover, isn't it beautiful? Just look at those gorgeous purple bell peppers, and those farm fresh eggs and milk!
In Real Food Real Frugal Susan first tells us what real foods are, and why we should be eating them, and where we should buy them (because location is important!). Next she shares with us things that are not real food and why we should avoid them, and how to avoid them. Following that she give us some great cost cutting tips on how to keep within a budget and eat quality foods, and let's be honest here who doesn't need this section? The last section is dedicated to recipes that are healthy, inexpensive, and tasty!
What I loved most about this book is that it's written not to the health experts, but to the average individual who is trying to make good food choices for their family. This book is a great starting point to know what to eat and why, and how to obtain it, and how to cook it! In the book Susan says that eating real food is what she believes God intended for us to eat and I have to agree with her. We need to be mindful of what we put into our bodies, and if it will give quality nourishment or if it will cause problems for the body that God has given us and commanded us to take care of!
Are you ready to join me on a quest for Real Food on a budget? If so you can buy the book here and it is available in Kindle Edition, Nook Edition, or PDF Format. If you'd like to win your own copy you may do so by entering the rafflecopter below!

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this website. It's simple, yet effective.
ReplyDeleteA lot of times it's very difficult to get that "perfect balance" between usability and visual appearance. I must say you have done a very good job with this. Also, the blog loads super quick for me on Opera. Outstanding Blog!
