His Princess - a review

Recently I had the opportunity to read a book called His Princess Love Letters from Your King by Sheri Rose Shepherd.  As women we often carry the weight of our world on our shoulders, we worry about budgeting, we carry the weigh of the health of our family, the needs of our children, the desires of our husbands, and we sympathize with those who are in need of basic necessities.  We women often have a huge burden on our lives, and sometimes it really takes a toll on our emotions and our physical health.  For me this book was a chance to be refreshed, a little bit of peace in a chaotic world.

There are 86 little mini-readings which you can choose to read one each day until you finish, or you could be like me and find the readings so uplifting that you just didn't want to put the book down.  Each one is given a title, and it could be that as you read the titles you find one that just speaks to you that particular day, and so you read it,  there is no reason that you need to read the book in order.  Each reading contains a Bible verse that is the theme for that letter, and the facing page contains a letter written to the reader and signed "Your King and (varies by letter)".

These small readings really spoke to me, they were a reminder that even in this chaotic life we live in that I am still a child of God, the daughter of King, the Princess, HIS Princess!  How awesome a feeling that comes with knowing no one can separate me from my Heavenly Father, and that no matter how rough life on Earth gets I am still God's Princess!  He will never leave us, never forget a promise, never turn his back on us, and never forget about us.  Each and every one of these readings brought hope, healing, refreshment, and fellowship with my Lord and Savior, these readings were not meant to teach us, or grow us as Christians, but they are meant to uplift us and give us hope for our future.  They do just that for me, and if you know anyone walking through a particularly difficult time in their life, this book may be just the thing to let them know that not only do you care for them, but that God cares for and loves them as well!

You may use this link to download and read the first chapter, or rather the first 6 readings in this case, for free.  http://www.scribd.com/doc/70401812/His-Princess-by-Sheri-Rose-Shepherd-Chapter-1-Excerpt

This book comes in both print and e-book versions so you have a choice there, though I must say the beautiful color images of the flowers make the print version very appealing, and depending on your e-reader, you may or may not have color.

I am required to inform you that I have received a free copy of this book from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group in exchange for my honest review.  I was not required to write a positive review.
